Donald J. Winslow attended Tufts University, where he was editor of the Tufts Weekly during his senior year. Winslow graduated in 1934 with a Bachelors degree in English, followed by a Masters in 1935. He went on to earn his doctorate in English at Boston University in 1942 and joined its faculty shortly after.
